Bottom Line: I'm searching for friendly people who don't smoke, or drink, or do any drugs, and who aren't into tattoos or piercings, who also take life (and themselves) seriously, who enjoy the company of a good friend, and who aren't obnoxious or stupid, who don't go around flirting with everyone of the opposite gender they meet, and who type properly (or at least try to), and who share at least some of my interests or values. If any of this all ready sounds like too much to you, then we probably won't get along, so you might as well stop reading here. :P
Update: My profile was far too somber-sounding and not organized enough, so we now have categories and smileys. :P Search-ability should be improved in this version. I apologize if there are any typos, or if things seem out of place; I'll sort it out over the next few days, when I have time.
Category 1: Values and What I'm Looking For:
- My values: Intelligence, Judgement, Self-Control, Purity, Friendship, Loyalty, a Devotion to One's Friends, and Respect for Both Genders Equally.
- Things that I Look for in a Friend: I particularly enjoy the company of people who are share at least a few similar values and interests.
- Preferred Age-Range of Friends: I prefer to make friends in the 16-24 year age range; although I will go a little higher or lower if you're a good person and you think that we'd still get along well as friends. ![]()
Category 2: Goals and Life Direction:
- My goals in life: My main goal in life is to meet my soulmate. My idea of my soulmate is a person with values and interests relatively similar to mine; the closer the better, for certain. I'm not the kind of person who is attracted to others physically; what I'm searching for is purely in the person's personality. I'm not the type of person who "lives in the moment", either; I'm saving myself for someone that I can look forward to a future with. Merely finding her isn't the end of the goal, though; the second part is making sure that she never once regrets having chosen me.
I don't want someone for their body, and that's the least-interesting thing about romance to me; what I look forward to is being there to protect and always take care of her; to share every moment of my free time with her, and enjoy all our interests and hobbies together, and to always make sure that she's happy; because I'll be happy just having her there at my side.
Romance can be pretty beautiful if you focus on the love and sharing aspect of it instead of on the physical aspect that people put far too much emphasis on. If a girl was to drop her clothes right in front of me, then unless I knew in my heart that she was the girl that I was going to spend my life with, then I'd turn away; I intend to remain faithful to my soulmate, even before the day that I've met her, and if I don't feel that a person is the right one for me, then I'm going to keep preserving myself until I do find the right girl. No matter how long it takes, I will continue my search. My life only truly begins once I find her, and I'll devote everything I have to her once I do; for she will be my very life, itself. ![]()
- Career Path: I'm currently a college student taking accounting courses in order to work towards my Bookkeeper Certification. (Bookkeepers aren't librarians; they're similar to accountants. :P The "Books" being referred to are a company's financial ledgers. I know that the name throws some people off.
Category 3: Hobbies and Main interests:
- Favourite Television Genres: I enjoy watching Anime, Sketch Comedy, Animated Comedy, and British Comedy shows.
- Favourite Video Games Genres/Companies/Consoles/Styles: I love games with co-op multiplayer, and I'm particularly a fan of the Nintendo line of consoles. I'm not really a fan of PvP or FPS games. I enjoy a number of games on the N64, Gamecube, DS, and Wii consoles. Although I never owned the console, the Neo Geo is also a favourite, as are some games from the Turbografx 16, and I mainly play their games through the Wii's virtual console. In particular, I enjoy Platformers, Action-RPGs, Turn-Based RPGs, Turn-Based Strategy Games, Real-Time Strategy Games, Arcade-Style games (think "Metal Slug" and "Streets of Rage 2"
, and a few odd games that come from genres that I don't normally delve into much ("Mario Kart" and "Snowboard Kids 2" for the Racing genre, "Mortal Kombat" for the Fighting genre, "Turok Rage Wars" and "Perfect Dark" for the FPS genre, "Pandora's Box" and "Puzzle Quest" for the Puzzle genre, etc)
- Spending Time with Friends: I enjoy the company of a good friend, and I can spend an entire day just talking to them, even if we're not really doing anything else.
- Favourite Shows: Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law, Space Ghost Coast to Coast, Monty Python's Flying Circus, Sealab 2021, Freakazoid, Earthworm Jim, Yu Yu Hakusho, Cromartie High School, Yugioh, Bakugan, Dragon Ball Z, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Death Note, Full Metal Alchemist, D.Gray-man, Kaze no Stigma, Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Kiba, Onmyou Taisenki, Guyver: The Bioboosted Armour
- Favourite Movies: Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Mortal Kombat, Airplane!
- Favourite Music Genres/Styles: Movie Soundtracks, Video Game Soundtracks, Anime Soundtracks, Classical Music, Orchestral, Organ Music, Dark Ambient, Abstract, and anything that I generally like the sound of. I mainly listen to music without lyrics, unless the lyrics are meant to be purely humourous. I enjoy music that you can put an emotion or image to without any need for words, whether the music conveys cheerfulness, or heart-wrenching sadness; wordless music has a certain beauty to it that I enjoy.
Heavy bass tends to drive me away, though.
Category 4: Attitude Towards Friendship:
- I spend a great deal of time thinking about how my friends are doing, and I like to keep myself easy to contact in case they ever need me. I'm the kind of person who will (and has) dropped everything they were doing to listen to a friend who needed someone to talk to, and even if I was just about to go to bed, I'll stay up several hours later than I otherwise would have just to hear the person out, then try to comfort them and cheer them up.
I always worry about my friends, and how they're doing, and I always do my best to support them when I'm able to. ![]()
- I really enjoy helping others, and I always offer help when I'm able to. I generally enjoy helping more than I do asking for help.
I'm generous to the point where some people will start refusing my gifts of friendship on the basis that I "give them too much." :P
- The word "friend" means a great deal more to me than it appears to most people, these days; I'll frequently use the term "my friend" as a term of respect.
- Similarly, I take friends by their quality, and not quantity; I don't want a list of 200 people that never talk to me; I enjoy the company of each person as an individual, and their friendship means a great deal to me. ![]()
- I consider a person to be an important friend regardless of where I met them; whether they're a local friend, or a geographically-distant one, they still have a priority in my life.
- I can usually tell pretty early whether I'll get along with a person or not.
- I tend to type rather long letters when I send messages to people, so I hope that you don't mind reading. ![]()
- I'm perfectly-capable of being friends with a female without treating them differently than I would a male friend; gender isn't important to me in friendship; only who you are, and I'm not going to make a person feel awkward just because they're one gender and I was born another.
Category 5: Personality
- I particularly enjoy using Skype and Windows Live Messenger, and I'll listen for new instant messages even if I'm somewhere else in the room, often pausing a console game, to move to the computer and talk to a person who has just messaged me. I put spending time with friends above doing any leisure activities alone, even if it's just talking. ![]()
- I enjoy humour and comedy, but I despise "slapstick" 'comedy', and I'll be the one odd person who immediately goes to help someone up if they fall out of a chair, but I won't be laughing, and I'm likely to scowl at anyone nearby who does.
- I tend to be pretty serious at heart; in particular, I take life, friendship, conservation/good use of time, and the rest of my values rather seriously, although I do enjoy a good sense of humour, and my personality is an odd mixture of seriousness and cheeriness. I can isolate either side if necessary and get along with people who touch on the extreme of either seriousness or cheeriness, so I'm fairly adaptable.
- I continue to keep someone's secret even if the friendship later breaks.
- Similarly, I don't harass or bother people that I dislike; I just let them live their life, and quietly live mine away from them. I'm really not one for starting drama.
- I'm an indoors kind of person; I'm not really into camping, sports, or outdoor activities; I'm more the type to enjoy a quiet evening at home than travelling or camping.
- I'm shy in large groups of people, and I become the quietest person in a group. My shyness disappears when spending time with a person one-on-one.
- I'm more likely to be interested in meeting a female who doesn't have pictures that show off too much of her body; I value a sense of self-respect in a person.
- I never make perverse comments to people. I treat everyone with respect as people, regardless of gender, and I never treat anyone as an object.
- I tend to speak to new people with the same open-friendliness that I use with friends that I've known for a while; it tends to overwhelm people who aren't very friendly, however. It's in my nature to be kind to the people that I can see myself getting along with from my first impression of them; if you don't like kindness, or you're one of the people who find it "scary", or you just want your body complimented, then you're likely looking for someone else.
- I've been called a genius-level intellect by many people who have known me.
- I've also been called "An old soul", and told that I act more like a 50-year-old than a 20-year-old.
- I do not enjoy "dirty" jokes, and I always keep my own humour clean.
- Similarly to keeping a clean sense of humour, I also enjoy clean media, and I'm a particular fan of cute/innocent fictional characters, such as Kirby, Yoshi, and Klonoa. ![]()
- I tend to be pretty quiet on a volume-level, and I enjoy my surroundings to be relatively quiet, as well. When listening to music, or watching television, I only turn the volume up to the point where I can understand any words being spoken, but that's it. My body is a little sensitive to noise, and I tend to get headaches from booming music. I don't get along well with obnoxious people who make tons of noise for no reason.
- I greatly prefer to speak to people through either mail, private messaging, or instant messaging, when it comes to profile-based sites, and I won't take part in publicly-open conversations through comments or picture-comments, so please send me a message instead, if you're able to. Thanks. ![]()
- I'm very literal-minded in my choice of words, and I use the English language the way that it was meant to be used. I don't care for riddles or doublespeak. I enjoy speaking plainly, because the purpose of talking in the first place is to get the listener to understand you, and if they don't understand the words you're using, then you've failed that purpose, and you might as well not have spoken at all. :P
- I do, however, enjoy using a few very basic "smileys" in informal conversations, just to convey a mood. ![]()
- I'm not very competitive; I really enjoy working together with a person, but not against them, so there's no trash-talking from me.
- My values and way of thinking are built from the ground up, with no influence from other humans; I've never cared about any celebrity, nor do I care about what people have traditionally done in the past, or about what is considered normal or popular by society. It's all of no importance to me. I do what I feel is right; live for the things that I feel are important; and share that life with the people that I feel understand that.
- I'm not one for partying. I prefer quiet evenings at home. ![]()
Category 6: Dislikes/Fears
- I have a fear of being the driver of a car, and consequently, I'll likely be taking public transit most of my life.
- Not surprisingly, I'm not very interested in the subject of cars.
- I have a particular fear of tornadoes, as I was lucky enough to have one not come in my direction, and it instead destroyed the shed a 7-second walk away from the building that I was in. I tend to get a little nervous during particularly high-winds because of that.
- I'm not really a fan of kids. I plan to live a child-free lifestyle, where nothing short of our jobs and work/errands/obvious chores can eat away at the time that I'm able to spend with my soulmate. Not everyone relishes the idea of raising kids, you know. It's not something that you have to do in your life if you don't choose to, regardless of how common it is.
- I hate air-freshener's and candles. They're worse for your health than you're probably aware.
- Similarly, I can't stand some forms of cleaning products, and I tend to go for the "natural" alternatives to many household products and daily items, when they're available.
- I'm not really into tattoos or piercings.
- Similarly, I don't like make-up, hair dye, nail polish, or anything related; I can honestly tell a girl that I think she looks much better without any of that stuff on, and I can mean it. A person's natural look is the one that I like best. ![]()
- I can't stand people with low intelligence, regardless of their personality.
- I can't stand when someone responds with "k." I also can't stand "wanna", "wunna", "gunna", "gonna", or the like; I find it annoying. I really don't care for slang or improper styles of speaking and typing.
- I never quote anyone; I feel that a person's thoughts are best expressed in their own words, so I generally don't like quotes.
- I'm not into poetry or art.
- I really don't like "sayings", either.
- I really don't care about news, politics, or world events, unless it has some direct impact on my life.
- I can't stand looking at pictures were people can't keep their tongue in their mouth, or keep their middle finger down, or where they feel a need to make themselves look like an idiot in their pictures.
Category 7: Miscellaneous/For Those Interested:
- I almost always like the villain of a story more than the hero. Anti-heroes are always awesome, too. :P
- I'm rather picky with food, and I'll only eat specific brands of some types of foods.
- I've been told that I occasionally laugh in my sleep, much to the amusement of friends when I'm staying the night.
- I tend to enjoy most foods very crispy; to the point where other people insist that it's borderline-burnt. :P
- My Favourite Colours: Blue, Black, White, and Purple.
- I'm not a very vocal gamer; I don't randomly yell, shout, or over-react when things happen in a game.
- What I enjoy eating: I generally only eat cooked foods, with the exception of grain, fruit, dairy, and similar products that are generally healthy, but don't need to be cooked. The bottom line is that I try to eat healthily. :P In terms of drinks, I only ever drink water, milk, and the rare fruit juice if there isn't any solid fruit around.
- What I don't enjoy eating: I avoid anything with artificial flavours or colours, when I can, and if the only reason that I can think of eating a particular item is because of its taste, then I'll generally decide on something else that offers more to my body, as I eat for nutritional purposes only; not for fun.
- My hands slightly tremble naturally, and they have for as long as I can remember, and so my writing looks really terrible, unfortunately, and it makes me really bad at those "trace the line" mini-games that show up in some Wii games, or anything that requires incredible precision, but it doesn't affect me otherwise. :P
- I'm not religious.
- I don't accept friend requests from people with blank or nearly-blank profiles, or from people with no profile picture.
Category 8: Closing
- If you've made it this far and there are no problems, then we may get along well.
If you've reached this point and feel that there will be some major problems in the list above that hinder our ability to be friends, then don't message me telling me about it; that's the point is to separate the people who will get along with me from those who won't. My profile is intentionally long and descriptive because:
1) If you didn't read this far, then you're probably not going to read my longer-than-usual messages or letters.
2) If it doesn't look like we'll get along, then let's go our separate ways and not even meet in the first place; no drama, and no time out of either of our lives. That's sort of the advantage of sites where you get a profile is knowing something about someone before you actually make a commitment to friendship with them. :P If you don't like me, then rest assured that we'll probably never meet in the first place, so you can go on living your life forgetting that I exist; I can do the same, and everyone is happy. :P
3) If we have conflicting values that are going to cause some problems later in a friendship, then it's better to get them out of the way now; anything listed above might have come up in conversation eventually, after all, and it's better that we avoid getting into any drama before it starts, which you just can't avoid as well with a completely blind friendship.
If you've read to the end of this, and you haven't been dissuaded, and you'd like to be friends, then please feel free to send me a meaningful message, and I'll check it out, take a look at your profile, and then write a reply and accept your friend request if I don't see anything major that is going to cause things to not work. It will be helpful to me if you mention what you did find that we had in common, whether it was life-outlook, personality, values, or just interests if you do message me. Thanks
And if you're not interested in being friends, then don't bother commenting or rating; I'm only interested in making friends, not playing rating-games. If you don't want to be friends, then don't bother talking to me; I'm now ignoring all hate-mail, and I won't be replying to it. You don't have anything to gain from bothering me if you don't like me, since never speaking to me is the same as me never existing as far as your life is concerned, so you might as well use your time on something else.
Have a great day, and thanks for visiting. ![]()
If you have any NICE questions about me that weren't covered above, then feel free to ask.
If you've only got rude questions, then please leave. ![]()
