but your right we don't have a settled no1 yet, but in terms of choice we have some of the premier leagues best performing goalkeepers and in foster and hart (and whover else comes through) i'm not too concerned about our future.

Spain is a big county for excellent goalkeepers. 3 of which are reina, casilias and Victor valdes. Basicly shit all over England goalkeepers the now. Then France with the marseille gk lloris of Lyon. Frey, another 3 that are better all round gk's than James,Robinson.

Yes there's worse than them but to say u would rather have them than any of spains and frances top keepers is idiotic at best.

As a United supporter I do not think he is good enough at the moment.  But as with all goalkeepers, they need first team experience at the level the first team plays at.  Foster is never going to get this, it is a thin line between finishing first and second in the league now.  It could be a matter of 3 points lost that costs you a title and you just cannot take chances with goalkeepers who have shown in the past that they make mistakes when under little pressure.

SAF has to admit Foster has not turned out to be as good as expected.  United need to replace VDS and neither Foster or Kuszcak can step upto that standard.  I would love to see Lloris at United and Lyon are a selling club so he is more a likely signing than Akinfeev.  But Akinfeev is the uglier of the two so I would expect us to be more likely to sign him.

I don't think it is the keeper that is the issue.  There is a much wider issue.  The lack of good English players coming through the ranks.  The lack of top flight clubs investing in youth.  The 'premium' attached to good young English prospects from other clubs usually puts top flight clubs, especially out of the top 4, off these players unless they are really special like Walcott etc.  Ashley Young was £12m from Watford?  It is a big price to pay for such a risk.  I am a big believer in having a cap on foreign players in the PL (notice no E there Dan!!).  EU working laws should not be an issue because UEFA managed to do it for the CL so it can be done in the PL. It may harm clubs in the short term but long term goals are what they should be aiming for.  There will always be good young English players coming through but so many get overlooked because of that cost.  It's about time the FA and PL stop talking and actually do something about it.

I find it weird that clubs like Arse, Chels, Utd, Cesspool and a few other PL teams that have Acadamies, cannot find good English players.

I cannot see it being a grass roots issue.  My uncle manages an under 15's team and Bradford City have just signed just under half the team up.  One player though, the 'star', has not been signed up and this is because of his attitude that he 'deserves' to be at the top because of his so called 'talent'.  Maybe it is this attitude, I like to call it the Kieran Richardson Syndrome, that is putting clubs off signing some young players?

But aside from all this, I think the whole country is in denial.  We expect our team to win everything and anything short of this is seen as a catastrophic failure which is only made worse by the press. We have possibly the best team of individuals in the world but this does not mean we should be the best team in the world, when this is not even close to reality.
