Went to Arnold Clark yesterday as my car had yet another bad day in the garage. Everytime I go over a pothole my car fucks up. Another £300+ required. So I'm just gonna buy a new car.

My insurance have advised me, if I moved from a 1.2 which I have to a 2.0 engine size, then I'll lose 1 year of my no claims (only have 2 years) and have to start a new policy. No idea why the fuck I'd have to lose a year and they couldn't give me a straight answer which resembled any form of reasonable language. The Arnold Clark salesman was bemused by this also.

Any ideas?

Sounds like they're just making up excuses to get more money off of you. Threaten to leave if they can't honour it. My friends done that before and they were able to bend a little to accomodate him.

I wouldn't take it to Arnold Clark...that's who i used to work for.
Wasn't the best run company in the world for sure. Difficult to meet targets unless you work extremily fast. So fast that it means the mechanics have to cut corners and "cowboy" things up a bit

That sounds really messed up, I would bin that insurance company and move elsewhere. Seems like they are just trying to screw extra cash out of you. Also agree with Hardcore, If your not too fussed about service stamps go to a small local garage that you trust. If not, shop around a lot for quotes for both service and insurance.
