"Believe the hype cos Odd shApEd hEAd are simply f**king amazing" Get Rhythm magazine

“If you only see 1 band this year make it Odd shApEd hEAd” BBC Newcastle.

Leapfrogging conventional rock sounds and hop-scotching conformity, these unassuming young gentlemen yell ‘Up your pigeon-hole!’ to an industry obsessed with format and repeated musical templates. In the humble surroundings of a quaint English seaside village, four of the four members of odd shaped head reside in chaotic harmony: Paul (Bass/Vocals), Ricky (Guitar/ Vocals), Rob (Drums) and Andrew (Guitar); from childhood chums to grown up geeky misfits.

The quirky quartet take a plunge with their new single and video ~ the multi coloured ket song ~ due to feature on MTV and stamp their un-erasable mark on 2006. ‘I want a red one…you can have an orange one… well you can’t always get what you want!’ is the Odd shApEd mantra chanted as a dull grey world is assaulted with splatters of bold bright colour.

Their eclectic brand of energetic, rhythmic, funk-punk; jerky bass popping, powerful scatterbrained drumming and stabbing guitars bursting into vibrant melodies draws more fans along to venues already packed with a collage of characters.

Quintessentially British - just like The Beatles are rock, but aren't, Odd Shaped Head are punk, but aren't… every half-baked crap band in the world could learn something from these guys…this single will be their road to fame. Excellant!! Lowcut Magazine, Denmark 06

The multi coloured ket song is Odd shApEd hEAd’s first major single and follows repeated success on the underground UK music scene and a rapid increase in audience sizes, demanding more! In 2005, their debut performances were supporting some of the big names - Maximo Park, Golden Virgins, Vinnie Peculiar. They were voted overwhelmingly No.1 in a Best North East Band poll (inc Futureheads, Maximo Park and Your Codename Is Milo), toured with Danish monsters of mayhem Wild Evil Entertainment Dept, reached Number 1 on internet radio station Sky905’s Most Played, released 2 ep’s……..and finally…. Saw the year out performing to a fanatical capacity crowd at Newcastle Carling Academy, sending an MP3 bluetooth of their own selfishly grateful Xmas tune – ‘I Like Santa’ to over 400 people in the audience.

They have earnt an odd shaped niche in the hearts of other bands too, recently playing an exclusive aftershow party for The Cribbs, featured on regional radio shows around the country i.e., BBC Newcastle, BBC Liverpool, BBC Somerset and Manchester’s FuseFM in the top5 chart alongside Clor and The Artic Monkeys.

“Odd shApEd hEAd have an all action sound: punked-up funk with added throbbing melodies and enough chutzpah to carry them on a tidal wave of goodwill which has been raining down on them from all quarters.

Odds on favourites to 'make it' this year!!” Crack Magazine, UK, Jan 2006

“No-one matches up to these guys at the moment – Odd shaped hEAd are THE band of 2006” Mick Hedley, producer, Testin Out
